The presentation will highlight the development of a polymeric supermodifier containing graphene and hard recycled plastics, designed to enhance asphalt performance.
Gipave, thanks to the properties of graphene, modifies and improves the mechanical characteristics of all types of asphalt mixtures, reduces deformation, and enhances fatigue resistance under repeated loading.
This solution significantly increases pavement lifespan compared to both traditional Polymer-modified Bitumen (PmB) technology and mixtures structurally modified using the “Dry” method, while also reducing CO₂-equivalent emissions and energy consumption.
The main projects in which the supermodifier has been used will be presented, with a focus on a project carried out in Brazil.
